Paris! What can I say. We liked it a lot. What's not to like? We stayed in the Latin Quarter (cheaper) which is near the Universities and also a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame! Plenty of cafe's, restaurants, bars, etc, and all at mostly cheap prices in this area. Loved how when we went for a walk it didn't seem to matter which way you went, you ended up in a piazza with a central fountain, roads coming from every direction and lots of cafe's restaurants! Lovely. Never hard to find food. The Eiffel Tower......like....WOW! We jumped on the hop on hop off bus and did the tourist routes, then jumped off at the Eiffel Tower and walked around it during the day. Decided to go up at night, to see the lights! Great idea. We booked a 3 course dinner with a tour group. We arrived at the designated pick up point to find a couple from Melbourne that we are friends with, that just happened to be booked for dinner on the same night! Who new?! Had to go all the way to Paris to have dinner with some friends....small world. That's twice on this trip and two different couples! What are the odds of that happening I wonder? Anyway, the tour leader put us on a table together, so we had a fantastic night, the food was good, the sites were amazing and the company was great. What more could you ask for?

Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Then we heard this roar. Bernie looked at me as we stood on our back verandah watching the clouds flying about and said "What's that noise?" I replied, "Wind. Lots of it. I think we should go inside now." As I said this we saw the sky along the river turn green and pink and the trees begin to whip wildly. We retreated inside for a bit and as the roar died away we ventured back out to the front verandah as torrential rain began to fall. And boy did it rain!!! The early afternoon turned dark as the clouds above turned ...
