Black Miniature Poodle & White Westie - Best mates.

Couldn't resist posting this in even though the photographer should be shot for such bad work. Never mind. You try keeping up with 2 little dogs playing "tag" with each other.  The Westie is my friends dog and she is 10 years old (although she forgets to act her age, just knocks up quicker), and the black poodle is my Miss Lily who is approaching 2 years old. Big age gap, but both love to play. Cerys just doesn't run as fast or as far as Lily, and being the "senior citizen", or Grumpy Grandma as we love to call her, she tries to "boss" the youngster around.......if only she could catch her! Keeps us smiling.

"Lily" - Black Miniature Poodle.

Lily loves going for walks along the Yarra, in the Heidelberg Precinct Dog Off Lead area. There is acres of room for owners and dogs to enjoy. Lots of birds and trees to enjoy as well as the River. You do have to keep a look out for snakes in the warmer weather, but generally if you leave them alone when you see one, then they won't bother you. Being Autumn now, there are some beautiful trees showing off their Autumn hues. The sun is warm, the trees are gorgeous, the birds are singing and the Yarra is lazily meandering along. What a beautiful day! Such a shame I have to keep an eye on the time, as I have to go to work soon. Never mind. This is always here to enjoy, and not far from home. Lily gets so excited when I pull into the parking area. She knows where we are and can't wait to get out of the car and go running and exploring. So good for her to be able to just be a dog.

"Lily" the Miniature Poodle.

Lily is settling into our family beautifully. It would seem she was meant to be with us. We constantly laugh at her funny antics, and enjoy her happy, gorgeous nature. She is quick to learn, and eager to please, cheeky, and a boundary checker, loves a game, and a cuddle. Not so keen on being groomed, but learning. Also learning to walk on a leash. Enjoys her new toys and tears around the house or the yard with one or the other of them in her mouth. She also chooses her own toys, a piece of rope in the yard to race around with, and inside wanted my slippers! She was most disappointed to discover that I was not thrilled with that idea and took them off her! She sleeps on her bed in the laundry and only complains with mumbles and grumbles when put to bed, and then is quiet all night, until the first person gets up in the morning. That, unfortunately for me is my husband who rises at 5.00am to get ready for his work. Once Lily hears him she "mumbles" and "moans" until I...

A Black Miniature Poodle named Lily.

Introducing the latest edition to our family: Lily. She stole my heart at first glance and then promptly stood up against my legs and gave me the big "pick me up" eyes. I was a gonner from the start! I sat down and she curdled up in my lap, gave a big contented sign and went to sleep! I HAD to take her home. She choose me! That's how I believe it should be. So I coughed up my money, picked up her vet paperwork and after a cup of tea with her breeder and a chat with Lily's mum and aunty, I happily took home my new "baby". We've had her just 2 days and she is amazing. So smart. She is house-trained, although that was already started. Has learned to use a doggy door after being shown only twice! Has learned to play fetch, and returns the object you have thrown into you lap if you sit on the floor. I have taken her for a couple of rides in the car (with her special seat belt of course) and she had met my husband's mother and been an absolute angel. Nea...
