Great Places To Visit - Archibald Art Exhibition in Ballarat 2016.

Spent a lovely day wandering around beautiful Ballarat.  The Archibald Art Exhibition was held in the Ballarat Art Gallery again this year....it's last one in Ballarat, Vic. A small group of friends and I travelled by train from Melbourne to view the exhibition and spend a day out of the city. The train trip from Melb to Ballarat was relaxing. We passed the time with chit chat and scenery watching or snoozing. Walked from the train station up to the exhibition, which was a short easy walk, browsed around the gallery, then selected a spot for lunch, enjoyed a nice glass of wine with lunch, then a gentle stroll back to the train station to catch the 2.20pm train back to Melb.  Back in time to catch the local train home before peak hour rush. A tired but happy bunch of Archibald wanders! Recommend a train trip to Ballarat even without the Archibald Art Exhibition. The Art Gallery itself is worth a trip to visit and then wander around the town.  Nice area of the c...

Children's Portraits - Grace & Olivia

Just spent an hour playing with 2 lovely little girls, Grace & Olivia. I'm afraid mum that we may have destroyed the toy room in our "Tigger Hunt". Sorry about that....but it was worth it, we had lots of fun and I took some fun photos. As my client requested black and white photos for this particular photo shoot, don't adjust your monitors thinking the color's gone mad. There meant to be black and white. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed taking them! Thanks Grace & Ollie for being such "peeeerfect" playmates. You deserve the sleepover at "Bopas" (they couldn't say poppa when they were smaller). Hope you both have a great night. Look forward to playing with you two again for a repeat session in the future. This a small selection of my favorites from our photo shoot.

Switzerland - Luzern - And Mt. Pilatus

Love, love, loved Switzerland! Sooooo beautiful and we were lucky with the weather, it was warm and only a little rain on one day out of the five that we stayed in Luzern. Lake Luzern is lovely and the Swiss are so organised and tourist orientated. Lovely clean gravel pathways with seats and bins everywhere along the lake shore with lighting! So you could stroll around the lake at your leisure, sit when the feet get weary, eat some take away and put your rubbish in a bin that was never far away. Tourist bliss! Did the touristy thing, cruise on the lake, cog wheel train up to Mt.Pilatus, walked along the tracks taking pictures, found out there was a motel up there and it was no dearer than staying in town.....so....why not! We booked a night up there with dinner and breakfast included. Well did we get a treat.....it SNOWED that night after a lovely sunny few days, so we were able to get pictures of sunshine and snow in one trip!! Very beautiful.

France - Paris - Eiffel Tower, Of Course!

Paris! What can I say. We liked it a lot. What's not to like? We stayed in the Latin Quarter (cheaper) which is near the Universities and also a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame! Plenty of cafe's, restaurants, bars, etc, and all at mostly cheap prices in this area. Loved how when we went for a walk it didn't seem to matter which way you went, you ended up in a piazza with a central fountain, roads coming from every direction and lots of cafe's restaurants! Lovely. Never hard to find food. The Eiffel Tower......like....WOW! We jumped on the hop on hop off bus and did the tourist routes, then jumped off at the Eiffel Tower and walked around it during the day. Decided to go up at night, to see the lights! Great idea. We booked a 3 course dinner with a tour group. We arrived at the designated pick up point to find a couple from Melbourne that we are friends with, that just happened to be booked for dinner on the same night! Who new?! Had to go all the way to Paris to have dinne...
