Great Places To Visit.

Nestled on the Yarra River are a number of Boathouses that offer rowing on the Yarra, lovely parks to stroll in, delightful Cafe's/Restaurants with outdoor/indoor seating.  Very hard to resist on a lovely day.  Many people flock to these little gems hidden along the Yarra River. We recently visited the Studfield Boathouse, just because we could.

Saturday was a cool winter's day with some nice sunshine so we decided to head into Brunswick Street, find a park somewhere and walk, talk, look and eat. Great way to spend a pleasant afternoon. Always have my iphone with me so couldn't resist a few photos of things that caught my eye. Some graffiti is art and is beautiful.  The street itself is full of colourful people, cars, buildings.  Here is a glimpse of what we saw. We also found a delightful bakery and stopped for a treat and a cuppa.  There are heaps of food places especially Asian Cuisine, so lots of opportunities to eat. We will go back a number of times to try some of the different fares on offer.

So, I wanted to make what I call a "snuggle quilt".  In my mind this is something everyone should own.  It's big enough to cover you up, but not so big that it's too cumbersome to handle easily.  I like to use polo fleece for the backing, this helps in my opinion to make it very snuggley! I don't have any particular patterns.  I just use my imagination.  I start  looking at other quilt patterns. I roughly figure out what I think I want it to look like, pattern wise.  Then I go off looking for fabrics.  This time I had decided I wanted to do something with my 3 favourites: black and white and purple.  I decided a black and white all cotton top, cotton wadding and purple polo fleece backing. There are no size restrictions, just make it as big or small as you want. I made sure I brought black and whites in shade lots. i.e. Dark, medium and light. That gave me an assortment of combinations that I liked.  I brought the edging fabric in a dark colour to highlight
