Great Places To Visit - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - Global Ballooning Australia - Sunrise Flight

Took a fantastic sunrise flight over Melbourne this morning under the guidance and care of pilot Steve Buckley from Global Ballooning Australia. Wonderful experience. Steve took good care of the 10 of us on his flight and kept us informed of what was expected, what was happening next, and what to look for on the flight. He also carefully explained safety procedures and landing instructions confirming that everyone understood what was explained. The experience was amazing. The weather was perfect for flying with the sun rising serenely as we drifted towards Melbourne City.  The flight lasted for about 1hr and we landed safely at Essendon Airport. Those who wanted participated in the unpacking and packing up of the balloon which was great fun. Wonderful experience, great flight, felt safe at all times. Would recommend Global Ballooning Australia, and pilot Steve Buckley.  www.globalballooning.com.au

Spring is in the air. Darebin Parklands walk with Miss Lily.

Well even though it's still cold, the trees etc seem to think that Spring is coming. Blossoms are blooming everywhere.  Miss Lily and I enjoyed the wide variety of them in Darebin Parklands this morning. Lovely day for a walk.  Miss Lily even met some doggy friends and had some fun playing.  Now snoring loudly in her bed beside me.  Guess all that fresh air wears a little girl out!

Great Places To Visit - Melbourne Botanical Gardens - Shrine of Remembrance - Melbourne - Victoria - Australia

Hubby, Miss Lily and I spent a very pleasant sunny day in the Melbourne Botanical Gardens recently. As we wandered about enjoying the views we stumbled out onto St. Kilda Rd and found ourselves at the Shrine of Remembrance. Legacy were having their service there at the foot of the Shrine in the beautiful sunshine. Great views of the city from here as well. Such a lovely way to spend some time in Melbourne. The Botanical Gardens were lovely even though there isn't much in flower at this time of year. Lots of people, families, dog clubs, walkers, runners and tourists were out enjoying the sunshine as well. There are a couple of spots where you can get a nibble and a coffee, if you don't mind waiting, and in this beautiful weather, we didn't mind.  Lovely way to spend some quality time together and get some exercise walking. Easter Break at Camperdown, vic.

Stayed in Camperdown with the Ivanhoe Photo Club this Easter. All 18 of us had a great time. Took lots of photos. Good food, wine etc was enjoyed by all. We enjoyed dinner at the Hampden Hotel which was excellent on a couple of nights and our accommodation at the Cascade Motel was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. All together a nice relaxing break away.  We toured around the local area and down to the coast which was only a 45min drive away. Then back to Melbourne...and back to work. Ooh well, there's always next Easter to look forward to! Another venue and another adventure!
