Great Places To Visit: Tocumwal NSW on the Murray River.

Perhaps I'm a little prejudiced, as Tocumwal is my home town, but I've always loved the Murray River Red Gums and watching the river & the bird, animal life here. All year around it delights me. Even the noisy Corella's can't put me off, I love living here. So why would a visitor want to spend time in Toc? Let me list just a small few off its attractions for you: Water sports: Fishing, skiing, swimming, canoeing, and any other water play you might like. Food: We have a number of Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants & Cafes if not in town then in easy driving distant. BIG variety for good old schnitzels, salads & chips to take-a-way favorites, great Coffee & Cakes and Bakery delights to tempt the taste buds!!  If you're an Artist or Photographer then Toc is a plethora of diverse landscapes to draw (pun intended) your attention. I for one have never tired of its beauty.  For the traveler's in their campers or caravans Toc has a selection of options for you to...

Great Places To Visit - Murray River in Flood.

The Mighty Murray River is running high, but not a threat to Tocumwal in NSW.  It looks beautiful with so much water in it.  I was recently up that way for a couple of days and had the pleasure of watching it rise quickly over that time.  It is a lovely place to visit and relax. I enjoy watching the goods train cross the bridge and head into Victoria on many of my visits. This time I thought to take a photo of it. The Murray River Red Gums are such beautiful trees. Can't resist photographing them.  In the local area Canola crops are flowering showing passers by with there heavy perfume and beautiful colouring.   Also the Australian Wattle trees are in flower for spring,  with a gorgeous yellow ball shaped profusion of colour and scent. Canola Fields Canola Plants 5 metres and rising on the new road/pedestrian bridge. Kookaburras high and dry. River road is closed! Reflections   Wattle   ...

Great Places To Visit - Port Albert - Victoria - Australia.

The quaint little fishing village of Port Albert is located in Gippsland, Victoria. We dropped in for a quick look, found the Port Albert B & B and decided to stay the night. Three nights later we dragged ourselves away. Really liked the lovely views, the great food, and the easy location to travel around the local sights. We enjoyed our hosts Michael & Lori's beautiful cooked breakfasts, and lots of chats about good day trips. We took up their tips and really enjoyed ourselves. We visited the historic church at Tarraville, the Port Albert Art Gallery, ate some of the best fish and chips, and dined in style at the local Cafe and wine bar. We journeyed to nearby Wilsons Prom for a day trip, and visited the lovely Tarra Bulga National Park. We also spent some time just relaxing on our balcony, sipping tea and enjoying the view over the ocean as the fishing boats came and went. As it turns out the Port Albert B & B is for sale so if you think you would like a sea change, ...
