Great Places To Visit - The Butlers Pantry - Numurkah, Vic, Australia.

Heading from Tocumwal to Melbourne you by-pass the little township of Numurkah on your left.  Literally, it's right there with a sign pointing to the town centre. So, because I could I turned left and went to the town centre. After all I was hungry, it was 9.30am, so breakfast was in order. Cruising down the main street, I saw "The Butlers Pantry", on my right at the round-a-bout. There were a couple of people in there and it looked nice, so I went around the round-a-bout and parked almost at the front door.  It's quiet at that time of day in a small country town, so no parking problems. No charges either! Walked in and looked around.  Nice.  Well laid out, nice decor, coffee aromas wafting in the air were enticing. Fronted up to the country to be met with a smiling friendly face. Asked for the breakfast menu which I was promptly given and then told to sit where ever I liked, she would be with me in a moment.  I selected a table and perused the delicious l...

Great Places To Visit - Brunswick Street, Melbourne. Victoria, Australia

Saturday was a cool winter's day with some nice sunshine so we decided to head into Brunswick Street, find a park somewhere and walk, talk, look and eat. Great way to spend a pleasant afternoon. Always have my iphone with me so couldn't resist a few photos of things that caught my eye. Some graffiti is art and is beautiful.  The street itself is full of colourful people, cars, buildings.  Here is a glimpse of what we saw. We also found a delightful bakery and stopped for a treat and a cuppa.  There are heaps of food places especially Asian Cuisine, so lots of opportunities to eat. We will go back a number of times to try some of the different fares on offer.

Great Places To Visit - Buchan - Victoria

Well what do you do when you have 2 weeks off to roam around Victoria? You make the most of it!! We hadn't been for a drive around Victoria for a very long time. One stand out in our touring was the little town of Buchan, known for it's caves. We cruised down from Thredbo to Jindabyne and then down The Barry Way through Kisciuszko and The Alpine National Parks.B-E-A-utiful drive, but lots of tight curves and turns, and large sections of dirt road (not a problem in the dry - check with authorities when it's wet). We enjoyed it as there are lots of roadside stops, camping and picnic areas along the way (with drop toilets). It's a long drive down as the going is slow, but we wanted to see the National Parks, and see them we did! Liked it so much I would do it again, so long as we can borrow my brother in laws 4 wheel drive again. Some people were travelling in normal sedans along this road, but it wouldn't have been very comfortable. We arrived in Buchan some 5 hours...

Great Places to Visit- Kilcunda - Victoria - Australia

Well, just arrived back home yesterday from a lovely Easter break at Kilcunda. If your unaware of this little treasure, its on the coast after you go past the Philip Island turn off.  Look it up sometime, there's a caravan park and a motel for accommodation, and a pub and General Store for coffee, drinks, and food. I recommend the pub for meals, very good. We stayed with 16 friends from the Ivanhoe Photographic Society at the Kilcunda Motel. Right next to the pub, so very convenient for evening get-to-gethers. We had a great time exploring the wild coast line at "Killy", and ventured down to Inverloch, Philip Island etc as these are all easy driving distance from Kilcunda. Here are some of my favourite pics from our Easter break. Hope you all enjoyed a safe and Happy Easter as we did.
