Great Places To Visit: Tocumwal NSW on the Murray River.

Perhaps I'm a little prejudiced, as Tocumwal is my home town, but I've always loved the Murray River Red Gums and watching the river & the bird, animal life here. All year around it delights me. Even the noisy Corella's can't put me off, I love living here. So why would a visitor want to spend time in Toc? Let me list just a small few off its attractions for you: Water sports: Fishing, skiing, swimming, canoeing, and any other water play you might like. Food: We have a number of Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants & Cafes if not in town then in easy driving distant. BIG variety for good old schnitzels, salads & chips to take-a-way favorites, great Coffee & Cakes and Bakery delights to tempt the taste buds!!  If you're an Artist or Photographer then Toc is a plethora of diverse landscapes to draw (pun intended) your attention. I for one have never tired of its beauty.  For the traveler's in their campers or caravans Toc has a selection of options for you to...

Great Places To Visit - Christmas on the Murray River at Tocumwal, N.S.W. Australia.

Can't beat the Murray River for serenity! Love the light and the shadows. The colours and textures. Hard to beat those Murray River Redgums! We spent Christmas at our little get-a-way in Tocumwal, N.S.W. It was great catching up with the family.  Miss Lily enjoys running around the bush on her walks. She even ventured into the River for a quick drink.  Not being a timid dog, she ran out onto the floating pontoon that is the boatramp and didn't care that it moved underneath her. We spent a lovely few days enjoying the beautiful weather and the peace and quiet of the bush. Ahhhhhhhhh, feel the serenity!

Great Places To Visit - The Murray River

I never tire of walking along and sitting upon the banks of the lovely Murray River at Tocumwal.  Our little cottage there is a wonderful escape from the hussle and bussle of the city. It's wonderful to have a place of beauty and tranquility to visit and revive without having to spend a fortune.  I feel truly blessed. i hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.  So tranquil.  I also enjoy just standing on the old rail/road bridge and watching the sun on the water and the trees. The bridge is still used by goods trains, but no longer by cars.  You can see and hear the trains coming from a long way and they always toot very loudly as they approach, just in case. The early morning light and the late afternoon light are my fav. times to visit and just be quiet, listen and look. So refreshing for the heart, soul, spirit and mind.
