Great Places to Visit - Buchan Victoria, Australia.

This lovely little town of Buchan is nestled in East Gippsland in beautiful Victoria. It is well known for its limestone caves: Buchan Caves. We recently stayed in Buchan for a couple of days of rest and relaxation, and as per my previous blog on the Calemondah Cafe, its got good food, and also very comfortable accommodation.
We enjoyed the comfort of a hill top log cabin courtesy of our hosts Peter and Rosie White. The cabin was new and comfortable with lovely views down the valley. Following are some pics I took around the place while enjoying a relaxing walk. Great Storm to Watch - Over Tocumwal N.S.W. Australia - Mini Tornado

A mini Tornado struck Strathmerton on the weekend of October 31/10/15 destroying a couple of houses. Luckily no one was hurt. Just a bit further along the Murray River at Tocumwal the Tornado ended. We happened to be home and live near the edge of town, close to the river. We saw the sky turn pink, grey and green. Ominous. Can't remember a stormy grey sky turning pink or especially green before. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Then we heard this roar. Bernie looked at me as we stood on our back verandah watching the clouds flying about and said "What's that noise?" I replied, "Wind. Lots of it. I think we should go inside now." As I said this we saw the sky along the river turn green and pink and the trees begin to whip wildly. We retreated inside for a bit and as the roar died away we ventured back out to the front verandah as torrential rain began to fall. And boy did it rain!!! Recipe: Healthy Eating, Heart Healthy, Diabetic Friendly, Good Clean Food that tastes great.

Baba Ganoush. (Eggplant Dip) This recipe is delicious with vegetable sticks, turkish bread, or your favourite dry discuits. I also like it as a condiment for saute' mushrooms, hash browns, grilled tomatoes. (Vegetarian mixed grill) It is probably equally as good although I haven't tried it on an assortment of steamed vegetables, or jacket potatoes. Ingredients: 1 large Eggplant 1/2 cup Tahini paste 3 cloves crushed garlic 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 pinch ground cumin sprinkle of sweet paprika salt & pepper to taste 1 tablespoon chopped parsley Method: Char grill your eggplant until slightly blackened, then place it on ovenproof paper on a tray and bake it until very soft at about 200C. Cool slightly. Scoop out flesh, discard skin. If you like a rough, rustic texture, use a fork and mash it. If you like a smooth, paste type consistency, put it in your Thermomix or Food processor. Add tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin salt & pepper and 1/2 parsley. ...
