Great Places To Visit - Melbourne City and Lane Ways

Hubby is on holidays this week, so we decided to take a train trip into the city today, and just wander. Turned out to be a good idea. Melbourne is lovely. The many lane ways are packed full of great places to eat at as well as many assorted little shops tucked into the tiniest spaces. Very interesting. The hardest part was choosing where to eat and what to eat. There are so many choices! Loved the beautiful floors in the Royal Arcade building, never get tired of walking through here, it's so pretty. We spent about 3hrs just wandering down lanes, across the mall and looked at Myers Christmas windows (beautiful as always) and on and into more lane ways. So many little hidden secrets withing these lanes. Do yourself a favor and take a stroll sometime. Just make sure you are hungry, because little cafe's are everywhere!!

Great Storm to Watch - Over Tocumwal N.S.W. Australia - Mini Tornado

A mini Tornado struck Strathmerton on the weekend of October 31/10/15 destroying a couple of houses. Luckily no one was hurt. Just a bit further along the Murray River at Tocumwal the Tornado ended. We happened to be home and live near the edge of town, close to the river. We saw the sky turn pink, grey and green. Ominous. Can't remember a stormy grey sky turning pink or especially green before. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Then we heard this roar. Bernie looked at me as we stood on our back verandah watching the clouds flying about and said "What's that noise?" I replied, "Wind. Lots of it. I think we should go inside now." As I said this we saw the sky along the river turn green and pink and the trees begin to whip wildly. Great Places To Visit: Tocumwal NSW on the Murray River.

Perhaps I'm a little prejudiced, as Tocumwal is my home town, but I've always loved the Murray River Red Gums and watching the river & the bird, animal life here. All year around it delights me. Even the noisy Corella's can't put me off, I love living here. So why would a visitor want to spend time in Toc? Let me list just a small few off its attractions for you: Water sports: Fishing, skiing, swimming, canoeing, and any other water play you might like. Food: We have a number of Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants & Cafes if not in town then in easy driving distant. BIG variety for good old schnitzels, salads & chips to take-a-way favorites, great Coffee & Cakes and Bakery delights to tempt the taste buds!!
