Great Places To Visit - Brunswick Street, Melbourne. Victoria, Australia

Saturday was a cool winter's day with some nice sunshine so we decided to head into Brunswick Street, find a park somewhere and walk, talk, look and eat. Great way to spend a pleasant afternoon.

Always have my iphone with me so couldn't resist a few photos of things that caught my eye.

Some graffiti is art and is beautiful.

The street itself is full of colourful people, cars, buildings. Here is a glimpse of what we saw.

We also found a delightful bakery and stopped for a treat and a cuppa. There are heaps of food places especially Asian Cuisine, so lots of opportunities to eat. We will go back a number of times to try some of the different fares on offer.

Great Storm to Watch - Over Tocumwal N.S.W. Australia - Mini Tornado

A mini Tornado struck Strathmerton on the weekend of October 31/10/15 destroying a couple of houses. Luckily no one was hurt. Just a bit further along the Murray River at Tocumwal the Tornado ended. We happened to be home and live near the edge of town, close to the river. We saw the sky turn pink, grey and green. Ominous. Can't remember a stormy grey sky turning pink or especially green before. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Then we heard this roar. Bernie looked at me as we stood on our back verandah watching the clouds flying about and said "What's that noise?" I replied, "Wind. Lots of it. I think we should go inside now." As I said this we saw the sky along the river turn green and pink and the trees begin to whip wildly. Roast Pumpkin & Mushroom Risotto. Decided I wanted a risotto for dinner that tasted great and was good for me. Mmmmmm, so that means, oil is out, dairy is out, gluten is out, fat is out, meat is out. Geez, what's left? Let's check out what's in the refrigerator.......Pumpkin, celery, red capsicum, Portobello mushrooms, red onion, garlic, vegetable stock, white wine, etc mmmmm. Ok, in the pantry I've got risotto rice etc. So, I made up this recipe below. Hope you like it as much as I do. Sorry about the photo. I started eating before I remembered to take a photo, it smelled so good. I had already mixed in the baby spinach and rocket although you can't see them in the photo, I think they went to the bottom! Anyway, I enjoyed it, so even though the photo isn't as pretty as it could be, the proof is in the eating. Give it a go.
